Michelle Henry Bsc (Hons) OT MRCOT

Michelle Henry is the founder of Access2Independence she is a qualified Occupational therapist (BSc Hons Occupational Therapy) who is registered with the health care professional’s council. Michelle is also a member of the British association of Occupational Therapists and the society for cognitive rehabilitation. Michelle has worked within a variety of health and social care organisations for the last 20 years with 14 years practicing as an occupational therapist.

Michelle is passionate about providing a service that is underpinned by evidence based practice. Michelle is committed to providing a professional yet friendly approach that is focused on client centred goals designed to optimise independence.

Michelle has extensive experience in acute, inpatient and community rehabilitation; providing occupation focused assessments and intervention, prescribing equipment and recommending adaptations and packages of support. Michelle is highly skilled at assessing and understanding the impact of an individual’s condition(s) and circumstances on their abilities and limitations along with problem solving barriers to independence using a goal directed approach.

Michelle currently provides private occupational therapy to children and adults with a variety of needs, she also works as an expert witness completing care and occupational therapy reports for Bush and Company Rehabilitation. Michelle volunteers for one day each week offering free signposting, information and advice and support to clients in the community at a local Birmingham charity organisation.
